So I tried Apple's new Virtual Reality Headset called the Apple Vision Pro. I decided to test what it would be like as a programmer to use it properly for creating web designs and coding inside of visual studio code! I discovered it was a lot of fun, however it might not be what you expect if you're planning to use it as your workhorse device. While VR is still quite new, website design still feels better for me on a traditional monitor. There are still a lot of smarts that Apple have added in the hardware and software that makes the AVP a technological marvel! #apple #visionpro #programming Apple Vision Pro Website: https://www.apple.com/au/apple-vision-pro/ As a programmer, I tried being a developer and using the apple vision pro. Apple and the vision pro also known as the avp is a vr or virtual reality headset I tried coding and programming on. To code a website or do development on the AVP. The Apple Pro Vision technology is pretty interesting for coding in vr. VR coding or VR programming is not as fun as programming without vr. While the Apple Vision pro Coding experience is interesting, I wouldn't recommend using the apple vision pro programming day to day. Figma inside of VR was similar. While vscode in VR was also not as good. About This Video

As a developer, I wanted to see what the Apple Vision Pro is actually like for day-to-day work—so I tested the stuff I genuinely do: coding in VS Code, designing in Figma, and generally living in the UI for a few different setups. The interface is honestly wild: eye tracking feels super natural, the gesture selection works, and the whole “windows floating around your room” thing is a proper glimpse of the future. I also tried it in different environments (including a cafe), played with the immersive environments dial, and checked how practical it is when you’re trying to focus and get real work done. The big test was using it like a monitor replacement: first with my Mac where it mirrors your desktop in virtual space, and then with a Windows machine using Duet. It’s cool being able to resize and position screens anywhere, and having extra apps (like YouTube) running beside your desktop is genuinely useful for tutorials. But for actual coding and UI work, the focus/clarity is the main issue—text can be hard to keep sharp unless you’re looking directly at it, and after about an hour I ended up with a headache. My takeaway: it’s a technological marvel and an insanely fun tech demo, but it’s not the $6,000 “workhorse” replacement for a proper monitor setup—at least not for how I build websites today.
