Let’s look at how to create custom, actionable, smart notifications using PushCut and using them in a HomeKit automation to run any of your Siri Shortcuts or HomeKit scenes. I’ll show you how to create a notification to view a live view of a camera when a HomeKit contact sensor is opened, plus more ideas you can create with other smart home devices. —— ⬇️ WATCH NEXT ⬇️ —— https://youtu.be/LuGWE4V9MvE https://youtu.be/bnhLg4p8RVc https://youtu.be/UOwkCm0h8GY —— 🔗 VIDEO LINKS 🔗 —— (Note: These are affiliate links, by using this link you are supporting the channel at no extra cost to you!) 🌟 My Apple Home Setup 🌟 https://geni.us/amazonstorefrontshop 🛍️ Products: Aqara Door & Window Sensor (Zigbee): https://geni.us/ContactSensor Aqara Door/Window Sensor (Zigbee) Weatherproof Enclosure: https://geni.us/aqaraoutdoorenclosure Aqara Hub E1: https://geni.us/e1aqarahub Aqara M2 Hub: https://geni.us/AqaraM2SmartHub Aqara M3 Hub: https://geni.us/q5QjZ 📋 Resources: PushCut website: https://www.pushcut.io PushCut App: https://geni.us/GQNZwS HomeCam app: https://geni.us/HomeCamApp Curling Iron Off: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/e18e2eaaf3084028a8951948cd639691 —— 📺 PLAYLISTS 📺 —— 📺 Apple TV: https://geni.us/m2Zk3X ⚡️ Siri Shortcuts: https://geni.us/SiriShortcuts 🪄 Automation Ideas: https://geni.us/AutomationIdeas —— 💬 CONNECT WITH ME 💬 —— Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/adamstechlife/ X: https://x.com/AdamsTechLife TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@adamstechlife —— ⏰ CHAPTERS ⏰ —— 0:00 - Intro 0:25 - What is Pushcut? 1:34 - Create Notification in Pushcut 4:47 - Create Notification in Apple Home App 7:45 - Live testing the notification 8:14 - Devices I’m Using 8:32 - More Automation Ideas Alert in thumbnail credit: Created by Anggara - https://www.flaticon.com/free-icons/alert #HomeKit #SmartHome #Pushcut

About This Video

In this video I’m showing you how I create custom, actionable smart notifications for my Apple Home setup using Pushcut—and then trigger them from a HomeKit automation. Instead of getting a basic “door opened” alert, I can send myself a notification that actually does something, like running a Siri Shortcut or firing off a HomeKit scene. The whole idea is to make notifications useful, not just noisy. I walk through building a Pushcut notification and then wiring it up inside the Apple Home app so it runs automatically when something happens—like when a HomeKit contact sensor opens. My favorite demo is a notification that pops up and lets me jump straight into a live camera view (I’m using HomeCam for that), so if a door opens I can immediately see what’s going on. At the end, I share more automation ideas you can steal—like safety-style alerts (think “did I leave something on?”) and other device-triggered notifications that tie into Shortcuts in a way HomeKit can’t do on its own.
