In this video, I’m unboxing the Retropia Oreo lens, but honestly… it turns into something much deeper than a gear review. I start with a question that’s been sitting heavy on my heart: what do we really want to do—when we’re not chasing what the world (or our parents, or the algorithm) tells us is “success”? Stepping away from that relentless push to keep up taught me the art of slowing down, and even though it felt relieving at first, it also brought up a lot of not-feeling-good-enough and loneliness. I talk about how pivoting into a new season can feel solitary—friends don’t always grow with you, and sometimes your world just quietly shifts. But in that stillness, I found myself returning to the reason I loved creating in the first place. As a videographer and storyteller, I’m learning to stop treating art like a relentless pursuit of perfection and start treating it like a visual diary—capturing what’s precious to me, not what performs best. My biggest takeaway: pause, reflect, and begin again—because it’s in slowing down that we reconnect with purpose, and make space for heart-led creating.
