In this video, I revisit the ATF’s required engraving depth standards and put two fiber lasers head-to-head to see how much real-world difference power and MOPA make. I test the ComMarker B6 20W non-MOPA against the ComMarker B6 60W MOPA using the same material, but each laser is run using its own optimal settings based on its design and specifications. I did not match settings between machines, as that would not be a fair or realistic comparison of their true capabilities. The goal is to show what each laser can achieve when properly set up to perform at its best. I also used ChatGPT to help dial in and validate the testing approach and settings.
