In this video I’m taking you around my new fish room, and honestly I’m buzzing about it. It’s been just over a year since I started YouTube, and the support has been absolutely amazing—so this is my way of taking the channel to the next level. The main goal was simple: get all my tanks out of different areas of the house and into one space so they’re easier to maintain, and so I’ve got proper room for filming, editing, and new projects. I walk you through each setup, from my betta’s blackwater tank (with botanicals topped up and water lettuce added) to the community tanks with rasboras, rummynose, CPDs, cories, otos, and shrimp. I also show the big change: moving my Malawi cichlids into a new Aquael Opti 200L, and I’m honest about the issues—my nearly 20-year-old Eheim Pro 2 developed a leak during the move and it blistered the brand new cabinet shelf. I explain what failed (the primer seal), what I tried, and why I’m now looking at a new, possibly more overpowered filter. Looking ahead, I’m planning to break down the tetra community tank, add a rack for more smaller tanks (including shrimp and a much-needed quarantine tank), and start some fresh scape projects in the new year.
