In this video I’m doing a full house aquarium tour because it’s been about 7 months since I last showed you all the tanks, and a lot has changed. I go through each setup, talk about stocking, plants, filtration and lighting, and I’m basically answering the big question: four tanks in, nearly three years back in the hobby… has it been a success? For me, it’s been a massive success, and honestly it’s been a lot easier than I expected. I start with my tetra community tank (the one that kicked things off again in 2023). It’s looking great plant-wise with loads of Vallisneria, crypt mix, anubias and buce, but I’ve had some real issues—losing apistogramma and dealing with red tail penguin tetras that absolutely batter each other. Then I show my other 60cm community tank (Oase Scaperline 60) which is starting to look a bit tired as the substrate depletes, so I’m leaning towards a rescape and possibly swapping fish between the two tanks for an Amazon-style scape. I also show my blackwater betta tank (Pep the halfmoon) which is thriving—especially the peace lily—and then my newest setup: an African cichlid tank that I’m absolutely obsessed with. I talk future plans too, including adding more cichlids (you do need to overstock them) and why, in my experience, keeping multiple tanks is actually easier the more you keep.
