About This Video

In this video I’m not doing the usual “alert” rundown—I’m asking a question that’s been eating at me for a long time: when did we stop being Americans first and start being “party first”? I’ll never forget September 12th, 2001. Not the 11th—the 12th—because that was the day there were no Republicans or Democrats, no liberals or conservatives. There were only Americans. Strangers hugged strangers, neighbors checked on neighbors, and American flags were sold out everywhere because people wanted to show who we were. And then I look around now and it feels like we can’t even agree on what time it is without turning it into a fight. We label the neighbor across the street, we avoid each other, and we’ve even lost family relationships over who somebody voted for. I share my opinion that no matter who’s in office, we all live under the same mess—and I don’t trust politicians as a class. My takeaway is simple: we’ve been better, I’ve seen it with my own eyes, and we need to get back to basic community again—being able to borrow a cup of sugar, share a kind word, and stop letting division make us weak. Fear less and God bless.
