I walk through why I think it happened: millions of documents were released, but millions more were withheld, and I’m calling out the idea that she believed she could protect certain people by hiding what I referred to as the master ledger. I also point out the pressure I believe was put on her to release an unredacted list, and how the replacement choice—Todd Blanche—signals a shift in who’s controlling the firewall. But I also tell you not to celebrate too fast. I lay out why this still looks like a clown show to me, because the message being pushed is that certain networks won’t be touched, and I’m not buying the “accountability is coming” narrative at face value. On top of that, I list the damage I believe was done on the way out: units disbanded, enforcement gutted, integrity teams stripped down, and grants cut—things that directly impact how corruption, money laundering, bribery, and organized crime get prosecuted.
