They’re not just bragging. They’re trying to frame U.S. troops as “on the run,” saying commanders and troops have fled into civilian areas, and then calling on people in host countries to report “hiding places.” That’s the psychologically nasty part—turning everyday civilians into an ad hoc informant network. I also read through the details being circulated: reports that many of the 13 U.S. bases in the Middle East are damaged, destroyed, or effectively uninhabitable—especially in Kuwait—and that troops have been forced to relocate to hotels and office spaces, essentially “fighting remotely” except for aviation operations. The list includes strikes and damage at locations tied to operations, communications, radar, and refueling assets across the region. My takeaway is this: the message is designed for multiple audiences—domestic Iranian morale, regional pressure on Gulf governments, and a global online narrative meant to make the U.S. look weak.
