Hey hey! In this video I link up with my friend Tyler—who is literally a freestyle cliff diver—and I try to teach him how to climb. The funny part is he’s used to sending it in the opposite direction (down), so watching him translate that confidence into going up a wall is both hilarious and actually kinda inspiring. We run through a couple climbs, I give him some simple pointers, and then we immediately test if those tips work with a revised attempt. I break things down like I would for any newer climber: how to move efficiently, how to trust your feet, and how to keep your body position from fighting the wall the whole time. You’ll see him try a first go, we pause for quick coaching, and then he re-attacks the same style with a better plan. We also get a little side-questy (because of course we do) and talk about learning a backflip, and then somehow end up on dinosaurs in the outro.
