In this first episode of my new series, “HT Within Reason,” I’m starting a home theater build from basically nothing—no furniture, no cables, no real plan locked in yet. The whole point is to document each major step as I go, share what I’m thinking, and be honest about what works, what doesn’t, and the mistakes I’m definitely going to make along the way. If you’re new to home theater (or just don’t want to spend a small fortune), this is meant to feel approachable. I talk through my soft budget and soft goals—because I’m not trying to build the best theater on YouTube, I’m trying to build something that makes movie nights feel worth it without getting ridiculous. I also do a quick tour of what I’m working with right now and the components I’m starting from, then explain how the series will work going forward.
