Finally! After seeing $400 Ergotron mounts for years, the NX finally allows us to purchase a high-quality mount at a (somewhat) reasonable price point. $100 is still quite a hefty chunk of change to spend on your setup, especially for something like a monitor arm, but I'd argue in this case, it's a solid investment. I'd say the NX is the Ergotron LX's "stationary" brother, while still offering excellent cable management and the quality Ergotron is known for. I rarely review specific items on the channel; when I do, it's an item I've done extensive research on, paid for with my own money, and recommend after trying it out myself. About This Video

In this video I review the Ergotron NX monitor arm and basically answer the question I’ve had for years: can you get “Ergotron quality” without paying Ergotron-LX-or-above money? The NX lands around the $100 mark, which is still not cheap for a monitor arm, but I break down why I think it’s one of those boring setup purchases that actually pays off—especially if you care about stability, a cleaner desk, and not fighting your monitor every time you adjust something. I go through pricing, compatibility (including the fact that my ultrawide is 34", which is the max size Ergotron recommends for the NX), and the overall functionality. The way I describe it is the NX feels like the LX’s more “stationary” brother: still smooth and solid, but aimed at people who want a set-it-and-forget-it arm that holds position confidently. I also cover the design and cable management—because on a budget desk setup, hiding cables is half the battle—and wrap up with the quick TLDW so you know if it’s worth the upgrade for your specific setup.
