STAINED-GLASS- 4 WAYS TO SUPPORT THE DETAIL EDGE

Whenever glass shapes extend over the frame of the work- extra work must be done to protect the glass. Here i will show four ways I support these detail parts. 1. Shapes can have holes- like beads- and with wire and solder- the part can be very sturdy. 2. After soldering foiled parts- these can be "outlined" with wire and then soldered. 3. A jig can be constructed to create consistent loops that can be wired to the base object- these loops can be an armature for crystals and gems. 4. Individual loops can be created for the gems.
