This is part one of: TWO WAYS TO MAKE A SILICONE COVERED LAMP SHADE BASE FOR STAIN GLASS ART. This part illustrates using corn starch to make a dough- the consistency of pie dough. After rolling the dough out to a uniform consistancy the substance can be placed over a form to cure. This gives you a replica of the form that is heat resistant, flexible and accepts pins and tacks making it an ideal work surface. The finished form can be placed over a styrofoam shape or filled with a material from stuffing to sand- to support the form. This uniform rolled out "dough" can also be used to form other molds you might want. Use 100% silicone and any brand of corn starch .
