Make your own board to use when tacking parts prior to soldering

Quick Tip: Having a nice board to thumb tack your project to does not have to be fancy or cost much money. Here I talk about different materials you can use, along with transparent silicon mat to make yourself a great board to work on. I list a bunch of materials one can use and then show cork board, ceiling tile, foam and cardboard. I back my material with mat board, cover it with white paper, add a silicon mat and I'm ready to create!
