In this video I show how to use a simply silicone mold to re-melt and recycle solder scraps. Often spatters and parts of solder remain on a work surface when a project is finished. You really need to keeps these solder bits to use in a future project. If you find it hard to use these little scraps- this video show you how you can easily met them back to a wire shape. Use 100% silicone- comes in a tube- mix in water with dishwashing soap- I use liquid Dawn. After you have worked the substance into a clay like mass- place in a container. Find a round wire like abject to make the mold shape. I used a thin silicone tube over a piece of wire and bent it into a spiral. Press the spiral into the silicone a little over 1/2 the diameter and let it sit for a day. Remove the spiral, brush on some flux and you are ready to melt your scraps!
