I finally started the basement renovations for my reptile room, and this update is all about getting the floors painted and giving you a real “first look” at what I’m working with down there. This is Update 2 in the process, so it’s less about pretty finished shots and more about the messy, necessary steps that make a reptile room functional long-term. Floors matter way more than people think when you’re keeping reptiles—between spills, substrate, water changes, and general wear, I want something I can clean easily and not stress about. In this video I’m walking you through where I’m at in the basement reno, what I’m focusing on first, and why I’m prioritizing the foundation stuff (like floors) before I start moving enclosures and building out the room.
