Today I’m 1v1’ing viewers on stream—literally from coppers all the way up—and after each matchup I have to GUESS their rank just off what I’m seeing. Aim, movement, how you take space, if you’re a “weeny hut junior” drone merchant, if you’re a ground-lover prone worm… all of it tells a story. And I’m not gonna lie, 1v1s make me feel different because the audio is insane. In ranked I’m miserable sometimes, but in a 1v1 I can hear everything and I start feeling like, “Nah, I don’t think any of y’all can beat me.” Confidence game, for real. We get a bunch of hilarious matchups where I’m calling out reads, getting blessed by timing, and still whiffing like a true Roy moment. I’m guessing stuff like Gold 2, Emerald, Diamond—sometimes I’m close, sometimes I get cooked by someone who’s barely played PC but has good pre-fires. Then the video turns up when a pro league player pulls up to 1v1 me as a warm-up before his match that day. Safe to say… there’s levels. I get a little rattled, he’s clicking domes, and I’m reminded that “warm-up” for him is a different planet.
