Please join us online for our family program Stories and Art, where we tell stories and look at art together. Listen to the story of “The Farmer and the Bear,”which has been adapted from a story called “The Bear and the Fox Go into Partnership,” by P. C. Asbjörnsen. While you listen, take a look at two paintings in the style of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, called Autumn and Winter. Look for delicious vegetables and grains in these two portraits as you hear about the bear that tried to take the farmer’s crops. Then get your pencil and paper ready so you can draw a portrait of yourself as if you were made out of food. We’d love to see what you make, so post your art on Instagram using the hashtag #yaleartgalleryathome.
