Co-curators John Stuart Gordon and Brooke Hodge provide an overview of the exhibition titled 'Sheila Levrant de Bretteville: Community, Activism, and Design'. The exhibition is scheduled to be held at the Yale University Art Gallery from February 16, 2024, to June 23, 2024. This exhibition is the first of its kind to showcase the works of Sheila Levrant de Bretteville, a celebrated graphic designer, public artist, and educator. Her community-oriented and politically-aware work champions the principles of advocacy and inclusion. Exhibition made possible by the John F. Wieland, Jr., B.A. 1988, Fund for Student Exhibitions and the Yale School of Art. Organized by Brooke Hodge, independent curator, and John Stuart Gordon, the Benjamin Attmore Hewitt Curator of American Decorative Arts, Yale University Art Gallery, with the assistance of Pamela Hovland, Senior Critic, Graphic Design, Yale School of Art.
