In conjunction with the exhibition Fazal Sheikh: Exposures, the Yale University Art Gallery welcomes artist Fazal Sheikh (American, born 1965) for a lecture. Sheikh details his process, including historical, personal, and scientific aspects of the two projects on view in the exhibition, Erasure and Exposure. Sheikh’s photographic work explores the immediate and long-term effects of environmental racism and climate change on the land and its peoples using portraiture, landscape photography, historical documentation, and personal interviews. Generously sponsored by the Martin A. Ryerson Lectureship Fund.
