YEAR IN REVIEW 2025 | Our 2025 "Year of Islands" with Favorite Moments & Personal Stories

2025 marks the end of our fifth year of full-time travel, which we dedicated primarily to the Pacific Ocean. But this wasn’t just another year of travel, it was the Year of Islands, as we hopped, explored, and lived across thirty-six different islands in nine diverse countries. While the scenery changed constantly, our accommodation was relatively consistent: we stayed in eighty-five different beds, which was a lot less than last year. This number was kept low thanks to extended periods spent living out of a van in both New Zealand and Tasmania. We took a total of thirty-two flights, including two unforgettable scenic ones, and managed to lose and recover a total of three bags.
