Flying a drone near a prison in the UK is one of the most misunderstood areas of drone law. In England and Wales, strict airspace restrictions now make it a criminal offence to fly within 400 metres of a prison or young offender institution without permission. But in Scotland, that specific restriction has not been implemented in the same way. Same regulator. Different legal outcome.
