What the U.S. jobs report means for you The U.S. economy added 277,000 jobs in November. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate ticked up slightly to 4.2%. The latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show the U.S. economy added hundreds of thousands of jobs in November. The hiring boost comes after an October report that showed an economy disrupted by a strike at Boeing and major hurricanes. The latest report released Friday also showed that more people find themselves out of work for more than 26 weeks than at any time since January 2022.
