The Ada S. McKinley Community Mental Health Clinic will open on the sixth floor of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. --- There is a growing need for mental health services on Chicago’s South Side. According to the Chicago Department of Public Health, over 65% of Black and Latino Chicagoans are not receiving any care for serious psychological distress. And in 2012, the city closed half of its public mental health clinics — many on the South Side. But that’s starting to change. This week the Ada S. McKinley Community Mental Health Clinic will open at Insight Hospital. Reset learns more about the need for more mental health services on the South Side and the new clinic on the way.
