Today I want to try out the NVIS (Near Vertical Incidence Skywave) antenna for doing POTA (Parks on the Air). Watch as I set up the Spooltenna between two pine trees at the Doerun Pitcherplant Bog Wilalife Management Area and operate CW (Morse Code) using my Elecraft KX2. Let's see what happens in the first installment of this experiment. 0:00 - Intro 9:35 - Antenna setup NVIS 17:28 - Radio setup Elecraft KX2 26:28 - FT8 Hate 27:38 - 40m activation starts 50:25 - The QSO map is in view 66:22 - 20m is slow slow slow 71:00 - Somebody says HI 73:30 - ASMR clean up time & Channel Member Thank Yous 85:00 - ASMR complete - Wrap up #1 94:40 - Hiking into the pitcher plants 99:00 - Like & Subscribe Join us for a short walking tour this morning at the Doeran Pitcher Plant Bog, where we'll be conducting an experiment involving a ham radio antenna. This setup will be used for ham radio communication, focusing on near vertical (NVIS) operation. We'll be exploring amateur radio signals and overall radio waves performance in this unique environment.
