About This Video

Hey girlies — in this video I’m trying Alabama Barker’s makeup routine step by step, but on me as a Black girl, and I’m mostly copying the application + amount of product (not necessarily the exact same products). I usually do more minimal makeup, so doing brows first, concealer on my eyelids, a real eyeshadow moment, and then going in with a fuller base was super different for me. I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills brow product, tried concealer on the lids with my Fenty Beauty concealer (which I love because it blends in so good on brown skin), and played with a brown shadow + glitter placement that made my inner corners pop. After lashes and eyeliner (which randomly gave me a hard time even though I do it all the time), I went in with more foundation than I normally would—like, I basically “painted” my face—and I’m not even gonna lie…I ended up obsessed. The Rare Beauty foundation looked like such a good shade match and layered really nicely with concealer. I don’t have bronzer yet (I’m thinking about that LYS one at Sephora), but I did set with E.L.F. powder, went heavier on blush than usual, added highlighter, and finished with a lip combo: NYX Espresso liner + a Makeup by Mario mauve shade + gloss. To lock it all in, I used the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray and got a little carried away because I wanted everything to stay put.
