The future of gaming | Ps5 vs Xbox Series X Yesterday PlayStation 5 revolved their new consoles and showed off some of the games that are coming with the next generation of gaming, so today i thought id share some of my thoughts on the future of gaming Let's look at what’s coming at us this Holiday Season We already have all the major announcements from both Microsoft with the Xbox series X ( what a terrible name, this s going to cause so much costume confusion) and Sony PS5 and here is what’s common between them Both of them will be running SSDs which will pretty much eliminate load times and allow new kinds of experience not possible before. take a look at the trailer of ratchet and clank for the PS5 where they teleport through different worlds instantaneously. in this generation, you would see a loading screen every time you enter a new area or fast travel to a new location. Now on the SSD from the Playstation 5 has an advantage with a higher speed SSD which is about 30% faster compared to the Xbox series X. both Consoles will support ray tracing. Without getting into the technicalities of it, ray tracing allows the computation of every ray of light creating better light effects and reflections of metallic objects and water simulations. both consoles will have a similar CPU tough the Xbox series X will be more powerful pushing 13 T flops of computer power vs the PS5 which will have roughly 10 Tflops of power. Both Consoles will be capable of pushing 4K 60 FPS footage and 1080 120 Hz gemming and even 8K upsampling. Now a month ago Xbox went first with its 3rd party games showcase and honestly i was disappointed. there was not a single game that piqued my interest except maybe assassins creed Valhalla and again they didn’t really show any gameplay of it. Nothing really looked like something that wasn’t possible on current generation hardware. How Xbox is planning another event for July with first-party titles and the could be more exciting, but the first look at Xbox Series X. Now i really like the design of the console, i think it looks cool and unique, and the new remote looks like an evolution of the current Xbox controller which is not a bad thing. Now Xbox has the strategy of cross-gen exclusives at-least fo the first year, so every xbox series one game from Microsoft will be on PC and xbox one as well. and their whole plan seems to be focused more around their services like xbox gamepads and xcloud. Xbox will also have full backwards compatibly with every xbox console before it. Now Yesterday Playstation showed off what they have coming up and it honestly blew my mind. The console looks super futuristic with its 2 tones black and white with neon accents design. They will have an all-digital and Blu-ray version and new controller looks to be significantly improved with better rumble features and 2 tone redesign. The console also features a new 3d audio sources to be mapped in 3d spaces nd the SSD hardware they have custom-built is even faster than anything we have seen in the PC space. But hardware specs at the end of the day make little difference, what really matters is the games and it looks like Sony is firing on all fronts, the event launched with the new Superman Miles morales game with more AAA exclusive announcements like ratchet and clank Rifts aprt and the new Horizon Forbidden West game just to name a few and these games are looking absolutely incredible. not to mention the whole catalog of games we can expect in the future like the new God of war, last of us 3 and many others. The PlayStation 5 will also allow you to play be able to play PS4 games as digital downloads. as off right now I feel like I’m definitely looking to get the PS5 at launch for the exclusives. The new spider man game at launch is definitely going to be a system seller and there are some Playstation exclusives that I just can’t miss. Xbox on the other hand with it exclusives being playable on the Xbox One will probably be a later date purchase for me probably after a year or 2 when the real Xbox series X exclusives start coming out and the price of the console comes down. I hope Xbox has a better showing at their July event where they will show more first-party titles. Now both Microsoft and Sony have not put out the price of their consoles and that could be a big deciding factor. but let me know what you think in the comments below.
