Microplastics are bits of plastic that range in size from a pencil eraser down to minuscule filaments invisible to the human eye. The University of Michigan has been air sampling microplastics at 12 sites throughout Michigan by combining measurements with atmospheric modeling, which helps focus future research and public guidance.
