I also talk about “paraphernalia” in online teaching—what they’re really for and how I personally handle them as a work-from-home ESL teacher and full-time mom. Most lessons are already inside the platform, so props are usually for testing, stimulation, and extra learning activities. You don’t have to buy expensive stuff. I used old toys, books, and even my kids’ medals—realia works better for me because it’s more natural and engaging. I also mention using alphabet materials (English and Filipino alphabet if you’re teaching Tagalog), plus my experience with Starlink during storms, and why I keep a UPS from Shopee as backup.
