Hi guys, it’s Trinh, and in this October music haul I’m basically proving to myself that I did not, in fact, “keep it cool.” I thought I didn’t buy that much, but once I gathered everything I was like… hm, this is more than I thought. I start with the CDs—mainly The Life of a Showgirl variants—because that release took over my month, and I talk about my favorite track right now (Elizabeth Taylor) and which covers/photocards I’m actually obsessed with. Then we get into the vinyl: a stack of 7-inch singles (Chappell Roan, RAYE, and the K-pop Demon Hunters set) and a really fun mix of 12-inch records. I show pressings I genuinely loved (like those “liquid gold” effects and the pretty translucent colors) and I also call out the stuff that annoys me—like barcodes slapped on the front of jackets, or when physical releases don’t match streaming tracklists. I also share little stories behind the pickups: driving to Sound Garden for signed records, grabbing surprise Target sale finds, and why some “on sale” deals were absolutely worth it.
