I walk through what I’m waiting on, why I pre-ordered each one, and the mindset behind it—because let’s be real, a lot of records you can wait for… but some drops (especially signed stuff) will sell out fast if you hesitate. I start with the Pride & Prejudice soundtrack vinyl (the Keira Knightley movie—an actual classic) and I talk about choosing the purple deluxe version because I love the film and the music so much. Then I get into July/August pre-orders like Magdalena Bay’s Imaginal Disk from Blood Records (I needed help grabbing it fast), a couple 7-inch singles (Gracie Abrams and Ariana’s “Twilight Zone”), and a bunch of signed or limited items—like LÉON, Reneé Rapp, and Jennie’s Ruby (where I’m honestly a little nervous about the whole autopen situation). I also share my excitement over the Hannah Montana vinyl pressings, an anime OST I had to have (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End), and a “pretty vinyl” impulse bundle from Vertigo Vinyl that I bought before fully knowing the artist. My main takeaway: I pre-order when I’m scared it’ll sell out, when it’s signed, or when the pressing/variant is just too gorgeous to pass up.
