In this August 2025 music haul, I’m walking you through everything that came in (even though I swear I didn’t feel like I bought that much). A lot of it was pre-orders finally showing up, and it ended up being such a good month—plus, we hit 4K subscribers, so thank you for being here. I start with two signed CDs (Laufey’s A Matter of Time and Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend) because, let’s be real, I mostly grab CDs for the signed inserts since I’m always going to prefer spinning vinyl. Then we get into 7-inch records, including the secret 7-inch hidden in the A Matter of Time gatefold (I have two of the same bonus track, which is kind of funny). I also tested Kunaki custom 7-inch pressings for Ariana x The Weeknd remixes and a Fujii Kaze song—and the honest takeaway is the sound quality is muffled, like hearing music through a car window. After that, it’s all about the 12-inch vinyl: signed Renee Rapp (Bite Me), a super-discounted Gracie Abrams (Minor), and my chaotic Conan Gray Wishbone story at Sound Garden. I also show my Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End OST (two gorgeous translucent LPs), a few Twice vinyl I finally grabbed, Jennie’s Ruby (my album of the year), and I wrap with Emails I Can’t Send Fwd—packaging drama aside, mine sounds perfectly fine on my Audio-Technica setup.
