Our first stop on our year-long travel adventure is the beautiful country of Turkey. In this travel vlog of Turkey, we experience the iconic hot air balloon festival of the Cappadocia region. Cappadocia (Kapadokya in Turkish), named "The Land of Beautiful Horses," is a vast region in Turkey that consists of approximately 200 cities and spans 5 provinces. If you've been wondering what to see in Cappadocia or what to explore in Cappadocia, look no further than the incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience of the Cappadocian hot air balloon rides. One of the main attractions and highlights of this region is the daily (weather-dependent) hot air balloon rides. We stayed in the town of Ürgüp, Nevşehir, and took a short shuttle ride to the neighboring city of Göreme, Nevşehir where our hot air balloon took off. This was our first time on a hot air balloon, and it was truly magical and likely unbeatable. If you've ever asked yourself "Should I go on a hot air balloon?" the answer is a resounding YES - whether or not you're afraid of heights - and make sure it's in Cappadocia! You can rest assured that the Cappadocian hot air balloon teams work hard to ensure safe hot air balloons and an incredible experience for everyone. 💡PRO TIP: make sure you book 2-3 extra days in the region in case of undesirable weather! As safety is the number one priority, balloon rides will be canceled/rescheduled if the weather is not adequate.
