This morning Teal and I sat down (after fighting the internet/StreamYard gremlins) to talk about why it’s still a great day to be a prepper—especially while the Middle East is lighting up again. My point is simple: you never know what’s going to kick the legs out from under normal life, so being ready isn’t “paranoia,” it’s just being responsible. With war and supply disruptions on the table, I’m topping off and rotating fuel (gas and diesel) and staying disciplined on the boring stuff that actually matters. We also hit the everyday preparedness pieces that slip when you get comfortable: Teal wants our cash-on-hand built back up, and we talked about redundancy—like keeping BIC lighters in every vehicle and having simple fire starters that actually work. Food-wise, our long-term storage is solid, but we’re tightening up the 3‑month pantry items so dinner doesn’t turn into, “I hope we have that.” Then we pivoted into the real-talk side: propaganda, broken promises, and how war gets sold to the public. I’m not here to join a blue team or red team cult—I’m trying to figure out why someone is saying what they’re saying, and what’s in it for them. Because when the messaging ramps up, that’s your cue to get sharper, not sleepier.
