I tested the Villainy Inks starter set as a grimdark enamel wash system, both airbrushed and brushed on, using reductive removal with spirits. The colours are genuinely interesting (Crimson especially), but I found them temperamental and they needed a lot of shaking/stirring to behave.

Pros
- +Wide colour range beyond just brown grime (Crimson, green, turquoise)
- +Can produce properly grimy, gross results with reductive removal
- +Crimson is a standout, unique effect for fleshy areas
Cons
- -Pipettes gunk up and can arrive blocked, especially darker colours
- -Needs heavy shaking/stirring; an agitator or vortex mixer would help
- -Premium price per bottle compared to competitors
