One of my favorite tricks to help see my paintings or drawings differently is to look at them through a mirror. This works so well to quickly spot mistakes, inaccurate proportions, and incorrect values. I learned this simple trick a long time ago and still find myself using it every single day. The modern approach to this is to take a quick photo of your painting with your phone and flip it horizontally in a photo editor. However, a good old hand held mirror is still my go-to. Try it for yourself on your next painting or drawing. I guarantee you that'll you spot something that you didn't notice before. Best of luck in your paintings!
