As a first-year PhD student at the University of Toronto, I've been doing my best to resist the urge to stay in my room and get out there to explore campus study spots. In this video, I’m taking on a new challenge: visiting and ranking some of UofT’s most iconic libraries! From snack-smuggling opportunities to the ultimate nap spots, I’ll be reviewing them based on highly “scientific” criteria. Whether you're a student looking for the best place to study or just curious about UofT’s libraries, join me as I explore Robarts, Emmanuel College, Bora Laskin, and Knox College libraries. Spoiler: It’s tough to beat the coziness of studying in your room! About This Video

Hiiiii, I’m Vic, and in this video I’m basically fighting for my life against the very real temptation to just stay in my room and “study” (aka rot in bed with my laptop). As a first-year PhD student at UofT, I’m trying to get out on campus more, so I turned it into a little challenge: I visited a bunch of iconic UofT libraries and ranked them using extremely serious, definitely-scientific criteria. I take you with me through Robarts (yes, the giant turkey), Emmanuel College, Bora Laskin (law library vibes), and Knox College. I’m looking at things like how cozy the space feels, whether it’s a good nap spot, the overall atmosphere, and—let’s be honest—how snack-friendly it is if you’re the kind of person who needs a little treat to get through a study session. At the end, I give my final rankings and pick a winner, but the real takeaway is that the “best” library depends on what kind of studying you’re trying to do—and sometimes the hardest part is just leaving your room in the first place.
