The Viltrox DC-X3 is a 6-inch, super-bright monitor that I unboxed, set up, and tested for brightness, false color, thermals, fan noise, and battery life. The screen is the biggest win for me, and I also really like the hard top and the touch features like touch-to-zoom when I’m trying to dial in composition.
Pros
+Very bright screen (biggest pro for me)
+Hard top included (better than cloth hoods)
+False color is excellent and matched my Ninja V+ in my test
+Touch-to-zoom and touchscreen zoom are genuinely useful
+Scopes and monitoring tools (histogram, waveform, vectorscope, RGB parade)
Cons
-May need to buy a micro HDMI to HDMI cable depending on your camera
-If you want a bigger battery, you’ll need to purchase it separately
-Port placement isn’t my favorite for a super-clean rig (HDMI on the side, USB-C on bottom)
