I tested the Viltrox 20mm f/2.8 as the budget, compact option, and it honestly surprised me with how sharp it is in the center at f/2.8. You’re giving up some corner sharpness, vignetting control, and distortion control compared to the Nikon, but for the price it can make a lot of sense for travel and lightweight setups.

Cons
- -More vignetting across the aperture range (improves around f/11–f/16)
