I tested the Sirui 16mm f/1.2 as the more premium, video-leaning option, and it definitely shows in the handling. You get a super smooth focus ring, slightly less vignetting, and f/1.2 gives you more blur and more light to work with in low light.
Pros
- +f/1.2 aperture for more background blur and low-light flexibility
- +Better build quality with carbon fiber exterior
- +Super smooth focus ring (great for video)
- +Slightly less vignetting than the Viltrox
- +Rounder bokeh balls in my test
Cons
- -Heavier and larger (about 384g)
- -More expensive (around $399, roughly $320 on sale)
- -Not as sharp as the Viltrox wide open in many parts of my frame tests
- -No weather resistance
