Laowa 12 MM - Amazon

This is the lens I tested in the video—the Laowa 12mm f/2.8 LITE (2025). The big wins for me are the sharper wide-open performance, the nicer starburst/flare character, and finally having a standard 72mm filter thread instead of that expensive, bulky holder setup.

Pros

+Noticeably sharper wide open (f/2.8–f/4) compared to the older 2016 version
+72mm front filter thread (no separate filter holder needed)
+Better-looking starburst and flare character in my test
+Appears to add weather resistance over the older version
+Lower launch price than the 2016 lens

Cons

-More vignetting than the older version, especially at f/11–f/22
-Canon RF version is manual focus only
