I used the regular iPad as a uni student for about three years, and I genuinely still think it’s a great option—especially if you’re mainly using it for school stuff like note-taking, basic productivity, and everyday student life. My whole point is: you’re not doing anything wrong by choosing the cheaper iPad if it fits your needs and your budget. I walk through how I personally think about the upgrade: it really comes down to which features matter most to you and whether you actually have the money to spend. If you don’t, I’d rather you feel confident sticking with the regular iPad (I even mention the 8th gen as a totally solid choice).
