I empty my wedding photography bags for the season and share everything I used to capture weddings in 2024. This video is in two parts. Part one I talk about the basics of what gear I used, part II I go into further details about when I use the lens and cameras throughout the wedding day. Lots of photo examples. About This Video

It’s such a weird, bittersweet time of year—my last wedding was two weekends ago—so I’m doing the most end-of-season thing ever: unpacking my bags and showing you exactly what I carried for weddings in 2024. This video is part one: literally what’s in the bags, what bodies and lenses I relied on, and all the random little “real life” things that end up living in my kit after 42 weddings (plus a few City Hall days). I’m a quality-over-quantity person, and I want every piece of gear to pull its weight. My core setup is two systems on purpose. My Leica M11 with my vintage 50mm Summilux is my main camera, and I shoot it almost always wide open at f/1.4—what changes all day is ISO and shutter. My film companion is the Leica MP with a vintage 35mm Summicron, and I’m shooting film at box speed (Portra 800 is a staple for me). On the Canon side, the R6 Mark II is my consistent workhorse, usually living with the 28–70 f/2 for ceremony and family photos, plus the 85 f/1.2 for tighter moments and speeches, and a Sigma 24mm f/1.4 for dark, cramped getting-ready spaces and dance floor storytelling. I also talk through my minimal flash approach (on-camera only) and why the Leica SF40 is genuinely my favorite flash of all time.
