Come behind the scenes with me as I photograph a Telugu Hindu wedding in Davis, California. This video takes you through my full process — from scouting the venue, to directing portraits, to documenting the ceremony and reception. Along the way, I share how I balance film and digital photography to tell the story of a South Asian wedding day. What you’ll see in this video: – Scouting a ranch-style garden venue before the ceremony – Directing the couple during portraits – Working with challenging light + narrowing down portrait spots in a sprawling venue [The Maples] – Using a blend of analog film and digital together – Capturing the beauty and rhythm of a Telugu Hindu ceremony and reception South Asian weddings are vibrant, complex, and full of meaning — photographing them is always both a challenge and a joy. My couple here loved film, which became a huge part of my storytelling. You’ll see how analog and digital images come together to create a complete wedding narrative. Film Developing and scanning is done by @TheDarkroomLab This is part of a new behind-the-scenes wedding series I’ll be sharing on the channel.
