I photographed an entire château wedding in France using just one Leica M240 and two lenses. No backup body, no safety net — just me, the couple, and a camera often described as clunky, heavy, and a little slow. The result? Over 700 delivered images and one of the strongest wedding galleries of my career. In this video, I take you behind the scenes of this French château wedding from 2017. I share my full gallery (over 300 images here), walk through my thought process, and talk about why the Leica M240 — despite its quirks — was my ride-or-die camera at the time. Along the way, I’ll cover: – The risk (and reward) of shooting an entire wedding with one body + two lenses – What the Leica M240 brought to the table in 2012: CMOS sensor, live view, focus peaking – How I navigated challenging light and pacing in a French château setting – Why limits can fuel creativity (thanks, Rick Rubin) – What still impresses me about this gallery, years later 👉 Want to view the entire wedding gallery? See it here: https://teribphotography.zenfolio.com/p242616428 This remains one of my favorite and most meaningful wedding stories to date. If you’re a Leica shooter, a wedding photographer, or just curious about using the Leica M240 for weddings, I hope you’ll enjoy revisiting this gallery with me. 📸 More of my wedding work: Instagram @teribphotography Chapters: 0:00 – Introduction & setup 0:49 – Leica M240 refresher & specs 2:13 – Setting up this wedding 3:25 – The results 3:26 – 10:37 – Recap & slideshow of images 11:01 – Would I shoot a full wedding with the M240 today? #LeicaM240 #LeicaM240Wedding #LeicaWeddingPhotography #LeicaCamera #LeicaM #LeicaWedding #WeddingPhotography #DestinationWedding #ChateauWedding #FranceWedding #FilmAndDigital #LeicaShooter #WeddingPhotographyTips #behindthescenes

About This Video

Some people remember the Leica M240 as heavy, clunky, and a little sluggish. I remember it as the only camera I brought to photograph an entire château wedding in France—one body, two lenses (24 and 50), no backup, no safety net, and a whole lot of stubbornly optimistic Leica energy. In this video I take you behind the scenes of that 2017 day: a small, intimate wedding (about 35 guests), a relaxed pace, and rooms full of soft light that made it feel like I’d been handed everything an artist could ask for. I do a quick refresher on what the M240 brought to the table in 2012—24MP full-frame CMOS, live view with 10x magnification and focus peaking, weather sealing, and that “built like a tank” feel—then I walk through the gallery and my thought process as I swapped between the 24 for atmosphere and the 50 for tighter moments. I delivered 720 images to the couple (I share my best 300 here), and even though the RAW files are long gone thanks to a corrupted external drive, this still stands as one of the strongest wedding galleries of my career. The big takeaway: limits can absolutely fuel creativity—flakes and all.
