I’m a wedding photographer—so when it came to my own wedding, did I go full Leica setup? Actually... I handed out disposable cameras instead. In this video, I’m sharing exactly how that turned out: from which disposable cameras I used, to where I placed them, to the candid and fun results I got back. As someone who shoots film professionally, I wanted to bring that same love of analog photography into my own wedding day, without overthinking it. This was a great solution to have a raw, nostalgic analog component to my wedding. Big thanks to my sponsor, The Darkroom Lab in San Clemente, California. They developed, scanned, and printed all of our disposable camera film. The Darkroom has been my go-to film lab for years—whether it’s 35mm, medium format, or quirky wedding day experiments like this one. About This Video

As a wedding photographer who shoots primarily Leica on wedding days, you’d think I would’ve gone full “Leica glass only” for my own wedding. Nope. I handed out disposable cameras like it was 1996 (Beanie Babies not included), because film coverage mattered to me and I wanted an unfussy way to bring a raw, nostalgic analog layer into the whole week—not just the wedding day. In this video I walk through exactly why I chose disposables, which ones I used (Kodak Tri-X 400, Kodak Power Flash, and a few Psychedelic Blues), and how I made it work: I put them in guest goodie bags with simple instructions and had everyone shoot throughout our multi-day trip, then return them at the end. The results were everything I hoped for—off-centered shots, flash faces, light leaks, mistakes, and truly magical moments I never would’ve seen otherwise. I also share real scans and prints from The Darkroom Lab (my trusted dip-and-dunk lab), plus my best tips: remind guests to use flash indoors, make the cameras easy to grab, consider assigning one per person, and please—print your photos. Those tangible little keepsakes matter.
