About This Video

I spent a full weekend in Austin, Texas shooting film on both 35mm and medium format, and it was the perfect mix of chaos and calm. One minute I’m Google-searching “what to wear to the rodeo” (apparently fringe and leather are a thing… I had neither), and the next I’m calling it my “epic return to the rodeo” after not going since I was nine. Rodeo Austin at night was such a fun challenge—fast moments, weird lighting, and that energy you can’t fake—so I leaned into the vibe and just kept shooting. By day three, I slowed it down with crisp, cool morning walks downtown on my Leica MP. I loaded it with T‑Max 3200 and shot it at 800 ISO because I wanted that gritty flexibility for shadowy scenes—like this creepy house I had to check out. Austin really hit me with how much history sits right alongside the modern city: old stones, established signs, building facades, Lone Star emblems everywhere. My goals were simple: neon lights, quiet streets, and interesting architectural angles—just finding those hard lines and little details that make a city feel like itself.
