UTM Mac

UTM is the virtualization software I use to run Kali Linux on Apple Silicon without messing with my main macOS install. In this setup I choose “Virtualize” for better performance, and it gives me the controls I need for RAM, CPU cores, and disk size. It also lets me apply the quick Serial-device workaround to get past the installer display issue.

Pros

+Supports Apple Silicon virtualization for faster performance
+Easy VM creation with configurable RAM, CPU cores, and disk size
+Allows adding/removing devices (like Serial) to fix install issues

Cons

-May show “display output is not active” during install without the Serial workaround
-Requires manual cleanup after install (remove Serial, clear ISO path)
