About This Video

In this episode of my Google Docs for Kids series, I walk students through creating a real “About Me” document while they learn the formatting basics that make their work look clean and easy to read. This is the kind of skill that pays off in every subject—once students know how to format text on purpose, their writing instantly feels more polished and more “school-ready.” I focus on simple, classroom-friendly formatting moves students can use right away as they type: changing font style and size, making text bold/italic/underlined, and organizing information so it’s clear. The goal isn’t to make it fancy—it’s to make it readable. Teachers can play the video while students build their document step-by-step, then pause and give time for students to finish independently. By the end, students have a finished About Me page and a solid foundation in Google Docs formatting that you can reuse for future writing assignments.
